We’ll go through the instructions on how we can import transactions on Ethereum blockchain to BearTax and calculate your gain/loss to file taxes. This will be useful for people who have invested in ICOs as well as those who transfer between exchanges and wallets.
Support for Blockchain transactions on BearTax
We support blockchain wallet transactions on BearTax and it’s very easy to fetch them and import here. Every user has a preference for their wallet while dealing with Ethereum. Famously used ones are Metamask and MyEtherWallet (MEW).
Etherscan is a block explorer for Ethereum blockchain. You can provide a transaction id or an Ethereum address to track all the transactions and blockchain confirmations etc., Etherscan has been the de-facto block explorer.
Leveraging Etherscan to fetch your transactions
Open this URL in your browser. https://etherscan.io/address/<youraddress>
Replace your address part with your actual Ethereum address which you can get either from Metamask or MyEtherWallet or any of your favorite Ethereum wallets.
This page contains all the transactions connected to this Ethereum address listed. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Click on “Download CSV” link provided on the bottom right corner of the table to get the list of transactions.
